non hai risposto a una mia prima Lettera Aperta all’inizio della tua verticale “carriera”, culminante nel riconoscimento del Premio Nobel Alternativo. Perciò ora te ne scrivo un’altra. Mi ero rivolta a te con molta simpatia quando sei partita, come fa una nonna che vorrebbe dare qualche buon consiglio alla nipote. Era per darti informazioni migliori sul vero stato della Madre Terra, poiché ho notato che ovviamente non le avevi. Questa volta preferisco rivolgermi a te come scienziata: sono una scienziata anch’io. Infatti, come ho sentito, tu cerchi il consiglio della scienza. Perché sembri fidarti del tuo spirito. Dear Greta Thunberg,
You have not answered a 1st open letter at the beginning of your steep “career”, which has just culminated in the recognition of the Right Livelihood Award. I nevertheless write a 2nd one. I approached you with sympathy for your awakening and activism, looking at you like a kind of grandmother who would like to give you some advice – to a kind of granddaughter. It was to give you better information about the real state of Mother Earth, because I noticed that you did not have this knowledge. This time I would rather address you in my quality as a scientist, which I am as well, as I hear that you seek the advice of science, for you seem to trust in your mind. This is good and it is really necessary. However, there are always two kinds of science: one that is responsible for nothing less than the endangered state of Mother Earth herself, and one that is opposing it. I belong to the latter kind. That’s why I used to be an enthusiastic demonstrator and demonstration speaker and at first I was just happy how the youth everywhere reacted to your protest in masses. Liebe Greta Thunberg,
einen 1. Offenen Brief am Beginn Deiner steilen „Karriere“, die gerade in der Anerkennung des alternativen Nobelpreises gipfelt, hast Du nicht beantwortet. Ich schreibe trotzdem einen 2. Ich hatte Dich voller Sympathie für Deinen Aufbruch als eine Art Großmutter angesprochen, die Dir als einer Art Enkelin einen Rat erteilen möchte. Er bestand darin, Dir bessere Informationen über den wirklichen Zustand von Mutter Erde zu beschaffen, denn mir war aufgefallen, dass Du diese offenbar nicht hattest. Diesmal will ich Dich lieber in meiner Eigenschaft als Wissenschaftlerin ansprechen, die ich ja auch bin. Denn wie ich höre, suchst Du den Rat der Wissenschaft, denn Du scheinst auf Deinen Geist zu vertrauen. Das ist gut und absolut notwendig. Allerdings gibt es immer zwei Sorten von Wissenschaft: eine, die für nichts Geringeres als den gefährdeten Zustand von Mutter Erde selbst verantwortlich ist, und eine, die etwas dagegen hat. Zur letzteren Sorte gehöre ich. Deswegen war ich früher auch immer eine begeisterte Demonstrantin und Demonstrations-Rednerin und war zunächst einfach nur froh, wie die Jugend überall massenhaft auf Deinen Protest reagierte. Endlich eine Bewegung und auch noch für Mutter Erde! Etwas Schöneres konnte mir, zumal als Gründerin der „Planetaren Bewegung für Mutter Erde“, ja gar nicht passieren.
